Rules

  • SAFETY! SAFETY! SAFETY! Keep hot foods hot and cold food refrigerated.
  • Practice good hygiene and kitchen cleanliness, wash hands before cooking and after handling raw meat, sanitize cutting boards and wipe surfaces.
  • Check these safety guidelines from the USDA.
  • Entries for individuals have no entry fee.
  • Plan to bring four to six quarts of Chili.
  • Provide your own method of keeping it warm, like a crock pot, catering chafing dish / sterno etc.
    (We will provide a 3’x3′ table space and extension cords.)
  • We will provide compostable tasting cups and spoons, and all entrants must serve their chili using the provided cups. (For uniformity of presentation.)
  • It’s okay to bring side dishes or accompaniments to showcase your entry.  (Crackers, cornbread, cheese etc.)
  • “Theming” or decorating your table space or related costumes are encouraged.
  • Townie Favorite will be determined by a vote of all paying guests, the other categories will be judged by a panel of judges.
  • Entries must register in advance.
